An Agriturismo
Agritourism was begun to provides housing for tourists on a farm, but it
has now expanded to other types of facilities. Although our agriturismo
was out in the country, it looked more like a country club, with a large
pool, three buildings, and a beautiful setting. The owners were
very hospitable and we enjoyed the dinners they served in the large dining
room. The first included a small serving of tripe, one pasta with
ground boar, while the main course was pork and rabbit.
This was a beautiful spot out in the country, quite a different setting
from our typical hotels of the tour right near the center of town.
The surrounding countryside was green and lush. We were even treated
to a rainbow after an afternoon shower.
A patio here provided a great setting for winetasting, with commentary
by David, our tour guide.
On to Civita and Orvieto.
