Musee d'Orsay

After we finished lunch, we took an RER train to Musee d'Orsay, where Patrick got us in a back entrance with our museum passes. (Is this an example of Europe Through the Back Door?) We took an escalator to the top (5th) floor to get an overall view of the museum which is housed in a converted train station.

We then started with the major Impressionistic works, by Manet, Monet, Sisley, and others.

At lower levels we saw some of the post-impressionists such as Van Gogh and Cezanne, primitives such as Lautrec and Seurat and at the lowest level we saw statuary, such as this.

Continue to Giverny.
