After riding about an hour from Lucca we stopped at the Florence Cemetery, an American cemetery and memorial . Over 4,000 Americans are buried there and there is a list of over 1,000 M.I.A.'s at a large memorial. It was a solemn and moving sight to see those crosses and to see a map of the military action in Italy during World War II.
Our drive continued through Tuscany to Siena, where we arrived about 6, loaded our bags into a small van, and walked to our hotel.
