Punishment of the Wicked

  • The Rule of the Community (1QS) lists the consequences of sinful living as suffering punishment from destroying angels, and everlasting judgment including "eternal torment."
  • Jesus warned of a future judgment of the wicked. In the future he will say to those who reject him, "Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Mt.25:41).
