Overview Leviticus Scrolls

  • Parts of 17 scrolls found, 14 at Qumran, 10 at Cave 4
  • 4 written in Paleo-Hebrew script, 2 in Greek, 1 in Aramaic from about 150 BCE
  • Some traditional Hebrew texts, some Samaritan, but fairly consistent, probably since it involved specific religious regulations.
  • Every chapter of the present Leviticus is referenced at least once in the Dead Sea scrolls.
