Zurich Museums

Today the forecast was for scattered showers and a few times during the day it sprinkled a bit but I used my umbrella only once or twice. We started by walking to the largest art museum, the Kunsthaus. We saw a number of works by Swiss artists and then to works by some of the masters-Van Gogh, Corot, Monet, Manet, Frnas  Hals and  Van Ruysdael.

This one by Hodler, a Swiss artist

A Ruysdael

There were also a few sculptures, including this one by Rodin.

From the Kunsthaus we walked to the Zunfthaus zur Meissen, an 18th century guildhouse which now houses displays of Meissen porcelain.  From 1763 to 1790 porcelain was produced in an area near Zurich.

On our way to the next museum we stopped in St Peter's Church and were pleased that someone was taking an organ lesson so we were treated to almost 45 minutes of beautiful organ music.

Our next stop was at the Toy Museum, which contained all sorts of dolls and toys, mostly from the 18th to the middle of the 19th century.

On the way back to our room we stopped at the Christ Catholic Church and then another stop at the Fraumunster to see the Chagall stained glass again.  Then some rest before dinner.
