Our next stop was at the Chambord Château. Patrick and Sabine had intended to have a picnic there but it was quite windy and cold.

An interesting feature of the Chambord château is that it has a double spiral staircase,designed by Leonardo da Vinci before the château construction was begun in 1519. His drawing has been colored to show more clearly how the double spiral words.

We climbed to the top level and found even the roof to be interesting. The left picture is of the structure at the top of the spiral staircase.
